The following vision statement was updated by Kinney residents in December 2025 and will be proposed to the City Council in 2026 along with the updated Comprehensive Plan:
"Known for its history and strong sense of cummunity, the City of Kinney is a rural small city where people are friendly, feel safe, know their neighbors, and are willing to step up to help each other and get involved. Residents and visitors feel welcome and connected with family and friends as they gather in the city's public spaces, enjoy the park and recreational areas, and participate in the many events and celebrations held each year."
